The 800 Pound Gorilla in the Room
Making the best Salesmen ever
How its started. Way back in 2007 I was driving with my Wife (Brandy)...I pulled up a red light which had a competitor's truck beside me in the other lane. Both trucks have the same sort of decals and information on the sides and back. But he had one line on the side of his truck that said cutting edge graphics. I started to laugh because the quality of the stuff on his truck was poor. Then I realized if there was a car behind us who needed one of our businesses who would he pick from just by looking. It was at that moment I needed to do something that made me stand out that I was the guy with the cutting edge graphics. After a few days of Brainstorming Alpha's rough sketches came to life.
Fast forward to late 2010, and I finally work up the courage, and funds (thanks Hadi)...and I believe I can make this beast. With the guidance of my Friend Corey. First up CNC some large blocks of Styrofoam. Then follow up with about a month's worth of hand carving. adding details. Only to cut him apart and weld in a steel frame. Then put him back together.
The late January he made is test run in the back of the Truck. Fit like a glove...was so well balanced in the truck that was little to no movement. The final steps were to take them over to a box bed spraying company and get them sprayed with a box bed coating. Finished him up with some two part clay to add the details to the hands and the face. Followed by Corey's magic making glass eyes to bring him to life. The finished product looked amazing. I wish I could do stuff like this every day all day ...it was so fun!
